Volunteer Application

General Citizen’s Committee: The governing body for Novi Youth Assistance. This committee consists of four officers, the chair from each sub-committee, and all at-large members. This committee meets on a monthly basis.

Family Education: This committee acts as a clearinghouse for and organizes workshops on parenting, family concerns, personal development, etc. May develop other family supports, as deemed appropriate.

Finance: This committee investigates methods of money management to enhance the value of fundraising efforts. They also aid in budget preparations, presentations and audits.

Fundraising: This committee plans and implements fundraising events (i.e. Bowl-A-Thon), and researches and explores other funding opportunities.

Mentoring: This committee is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and supporting adult volunteers to be matched with children who are in need of an adult companion. This committee also plans for and implements the youth peer mentor program. Volunteer mentors who are in 1:1 matches are also part of this committee.

Public Relations: This committee is concerned with promoting Novi Youth Assistance within the community through social media and other avenues.

Scholarships: This committee is responsible for receiving, analyzing, approving, and dispensing scholarship funds.

Seasonal Programs: This committee assists with the planning and implementation of various seasonal programs, (i.e. Adopt-A-Family, Back to School Shopping, etc.).

Youth Recognition: This committee processes nominations, plans a formal awards ceremony, and presents awards to deserving youth in the community.

Other: We welcome new ideas that support our mission. New proposals require board approval.
